Nowdays, A building’s facade is more than aesthetics — it is also a safety barrier.
With increasingly stringent fire-safety codes, traditional decorative panels with combustible cores can no longer meet the demanding requirements of high-rises, public buildings, hotels, schools and other projects.
Fire-resistant aluminum composite panels feature non-combustible cores and all-aluminum structures. Combining attractive appearance, durability and reliable fire-safety performance, they preserve the visual expression of buildings while helping projects meet regulatory compliance and protecting people’s safety.
They represent the preferred next-generation solution for exterior and interior curtain-wall cladding.
Why we need Class A2 / B1 Fire-rated ACP for high-rise facade:
Fire rescue air cushions and standard fire ladders only work effectively below 50 meters. For buildings higher than 50 meters, external ground rescue is almost impossible once fire breaks out.
The Grenfell Tower disaster proved that ordinary PE core aluminum composite panels catch fire easily and spread flame rapidly along the building exterior.
Class A2 fire-rated ACP with inorganic core limits flame spread, stops vertical fire propagation on facade, greatly reduces casualties for high-rise projects.

Alucoguard ® mainly supply three types of fire-safe aluminum composite panels:
1.) B1 Flame-retardant aluminum composite panels (B1 FR)
2.) A2 Non-combustible core aluminum composite panels(A2 FR)
3.) Aluminum cone-core composite panels(A2 FR)
1. B1 Fire-Retardant Aluminium Composite Panel

Complies with GB 8624‑2012 B1; comparable to EN 13501‑1 B‑s1,d0 European standard.

Structure & Core Raw Materials
Two aluminium skins bonded with modified PE flame-retardant plastic core
Main core ingredients:
‑ Modified polyethylene (PE)
‑ Aluminium hydroxide
‑ Magnesium hydroxide
‑ Quartz / silicon powder
‑ Halogen‑free flame‑retardant additives
Approx. 70% inorganic mineral fillers + 30% PE resin. It retains good grooving, routing and bending performance.
Fire Performance
It is flame‑retardant, NOT non‑combustible.
Under continuous direct‑flame exposure, it may be ignited after around 5 minutes. It is self‑extinguishing and will not sustain combustion once the flame source is removed. Low smoke emission, no heavy burning molten drips.
Features
PVDF fluorocarbon, nano or polyester coating optional. Lightweight, flat, weather‑resistant, cost‑effective.
Application
Interior & exterior cladding for offices, hotels, shopping malls and commercial buildings with moderate fire‑safety requirements.

2. A2 Non‑Combustible Aluminium Composite Panel
En13501-1, A2‑s1, d0 Mineral Core ACP Facade Cladding

Alucoguard A2 fire-rated aluminium composite panel is a fully non-combustible building cladding material, complying with international A2 fire safety standard EN13501-1 and GB8624-2012 A2-s1,d0,t0 classification.
Unlike traditional B1 flame-retardant ACP which uses PE plastic core, our A2 panel contains zero combustible polyethylene. It is composed of double high-strength aluminium skins and a pure inorganic mineral core.

Fire Performance
This panel will never sustain combustion under high temperature or long-time direct flame exposure. It will not catch fire, no flame spreading, no molten dripping, and releases extremely low smoke and zero toxic gas during fire. It maintains stable structure at high temperature, making it safe for high-rise and public high-risk buildings.
Core Material Raw Ingredient (Key Difference from B1)
The A2 core is made of 90%+ inorganic mineral fireproof fillers with only a tiny proportion of environment-friendly adhesive.
Main core components:
• Aluminium Hydroxide (Al(OH)₃)
• Magnesium Hydroxide (Mg(OH)₂)
• Silicon Powder / Quartz Powder
• Calcium Carbonate
• Inorganic mineral flame retardants
All core raw materials are naturally non-combustible, ensuring the whole panel reaches true A2 non-combustible level, not just flame-retardant grade.
Surface & Advantages
Available in PVDF fluorocarbon coating, nano self-cleaning coating and polyester coating.
Features:
• 100% non-combustible
• zero fire spreading
• low smoke density
• excellent flatness and rigidity
• weatherproof, anti-corrosion
• easy cutting, grooving and installation
Application
Widely used for high-rise building facades, airport, subway, hospital, shopping mall, hotel interior & exterior decoration, and all construction projects requiring strict fire safety standards.
